The Perfect Imperfections

By: Rosemary

Today is one of those days I celebrate someone so dear to me, my sister was born 01/10/1995..... she has always been my companion in life at one point we were even called twins . last night at the stroke of midnight I woke her up and wished her a happy birthday but when I tried to fall asleep, I failed and all that came to my mind was the journey of her life.

I think we have all heard this before the act of self-acceptance, through the years of childhood to adolescence to adulthood, each stage posses a different question to which we have to find an answer. every decision we make, can either make, break or mend us but above all these stages mold us into what we are today.

Decision making is not only made at those particular stages of life but this is an everyday exercise that we all cannot avoid, what we decide to do today determines what we wake up to the following day but all in all, we have the right to make the decisions that we fill fit.

Anyway, that's a story for another day... let's talk about accepting oneself and loving the imperfections that make us human.

One of the hardest things on earth is accepting those aspects of our lives that make us look imperfect, these may include our physical appearance from shape to skin ton to physique or our character, like temperament either short-tempered or long tempered or even just the way we do things.

The beauty of these flaws is , these are the aspects in our lives that actually matter because they define much of our personality, instead of being ashamed of them , we should acknowledge them and work towards changing what we can and falling in love with what we cannot, if its an issue with character, take small steps to become the person you desire but in all you do never ignore your flaws..

If its physical appearance, i guess nothing much can be done in that section though I'm not saying the possibility is not there, though its better to appreciate the unique features that you possess and make them a strong aspect in your life to hold your face up high and say, I'm who I am and I love myself .

All in all, let's find peace in our different skins.

Accepting yourself for who you are is the first step towards self-actualization and later fulfillment.
