Ask “What” not “Why”
In the world of self-awareness there are two types of people
Those who think are self-aware 95%
Those who actually are self-aware 15%
The one common factor among people who think they are self-aware are the questions they often ask ……this group of people always ask “why?”
· Why am I short?
· Why me?
· Why is this happening to me?
· Why is my life so unfortunate?
· Why do I always fall for the wrong people?
· Why is marriage like this?
· Why can’t I find a job?
· Why is my boss so hard on me?
· Why am always sad?
Asking the question “why” always gives us the alternative facts leading us away from our true nature which may sound true and comforting at the time but most times, these are all things that our mind makes up so that we feel ok instantly without actually arriving to the truth.
The right questions to ask oneself begin with, “what”
· What can I do about my height? Probably nothing.
· What kind of partner do I want?
· What can I do to overcome my situation?
· What did I do wrong?
· What lead me to this place? How did I reach this point in my life?
· What can I do to improve my marriage?
· What can I do as I look for my dream job?
· What can I do to impress my boss?
· What can I do to be happy?
When we ask “why” we make it about the world or other people…let us ask ,”what” in that way we figure out what we can and cannot change and become more self-aware which is a powerful tool in major decision making
